LINIAN were asked by a prestigious manufacturer of high quality bespoke curtains to design, manufacture and install a curtain lifting frame for their very exacting quality control department.
Before the new curtains can be delivered to the customer it is necessary to ensure that they perfectly match their specification. They must be exactly the correct length and width. Also, they must hang correctly and be free from any marks or defects.
LINIAN designed this lifting frame to make maximum use of the building height and to accommodate the largest width of curtains likely to be manufactured by this company.
Twin electric chain hoist units are used and are operated from one push button control pendant having a change-over switch so that the hoists can be used normally in tandem or occasionally independently thus enabling corrections to be made to their synchronised height.
The curtains are hung from a lifting bar in the same way that they would be hung from a curtain rail and the lifting bar is then hoisted to whatever height is necessary to enable a full examination of the curtains to be made. As an alternative to the lifting bar a lifting pole is also incorporated in the system.
As the bar is hoisted two measuring tapes are paid out, one at each side, enabling the curtain drop to be checked.
A solid worktop was also fitted to the frame so that the curtains can be properly and carefully hooked to the bar with little effort.
Adjustable feet at each corner of the frame allowed the structure to be installed level.
The curtain manufacturer is delighted with the quality of this labour saving lifting device.
